Change default Exchange Autodiscover login domain
Even if your external Exchange Autodiscover service is configured correctly you may still have issues with rejected login credentials if your internal and SMTP domains are different. Lets say your internal Active Directory domain is mydomain.local, but your external SMTP domain is mydomain.com and user's have emails in format
In this case Autodiscover service will submit username
Obviously users can manually enter their UPN during email account setup, but this somewhat defeats whole purpose of Exchange Autodiscover setup where end users can configure their email accounts by simply providing their email address and password.

Configure Exchange Autodiscover with multiple SMTP namespaces
Background
This article assumes that your Exchange Autodiscover is setup and working correctly internally.
For external connections MS Exchange Autodiscover uses following 4 methods to retrieve automatic email client configuration:
- Connecting to Autodiscover URL: https://domain.com/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.xml
- Connecting to Autodiscover URL: https://autodiscover.domain.com/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.xml
- Connecting to Autodiscover redirect URL and looking for Redirection to HTTPS Autodiscover at: http://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
- Looking for DNS SRV record
First two methods work fine for single SMTP namespace organisations. Last two can deal with multiple SMTP namespaces. In this example I will use third, the Redirect method.

Error while checking DFS replication backlog: -2147217406 (0x80041002)
Following error was displayed while checking DFS replication backup on Windows Server 2012:
[ERROR] Failed to execute GetVersionVector method. Err: -2147217406 (0x80041002)
The issue was caused by a recent unexpected DFS server shutdown. Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 by default do not automatically resume DFS replication after dirty DFSR JET database shutdown. For more info about this and how to re-start DFS replication manually read this post.
