Outlook 2016 doesn't work with Microsoft Exchange 2010 Accounts

Issue

After upgrading Microsoft Office 2013 to Office 2016, Outlook 2016 no longer works properly with Microsoft Exchange 2010 accounts and frequently crashes. Trying to remove the old Outlook profile and creating a new one fails because auto-discovery is not configured on the Exhcange server.

Resolution

Microsoft Outlook 2016 no longer allows to manually configure connection for Exchange servers. You must have a properly configured external Exchange auto-discovery. One of the methods how to configure auto-discovery can be found here.
