If you are having problems with Internet Explorer one of the first things to try is starting IE without Add-ons as one of them could be causing your problems. If IE works fine without add-ons, you can try re-enabling them one by one until you find the offending add-on.
To start Internet Explorer without add-ons:
Option 1
Navigate to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and open Internet Explorer (no Add-ons)
Option 2
Start > Run type iexplore -extoff and press OK
